I could list very personal reasons to read this book, like: find a job as an Android developer, become an Android expert in a very simple way, have fun developing your own apps. It’s always better to discover it for yourself.

Knowledge explained gradually, page by page, question by question, from beginning to end. If we explain something, it’s because you have already got the foundation to understand it. Nothing is taken for granted.

We also encourage you to create your own app and upload it to Google Play.

Why is the book free? I would have paid anything for a book with so much information and so well explained!

We are 100% committed to every personal situation.

We fully believe in people: that everyone is aware of the great work a book like this takes, and will know how to show appreciation for the help it has given them.

We offer everyone a donations section.

Can I buy a physical paper copy of the book?

No.

Will it help me learn Android Studio even though it’s written for Eclipse?

Yes. The Java programming language and the XML markup language don’t change between IDEs (between Eclipse and Android Studio). The development environments do change (although for any developer one or the other should make no difference), but the programming language, the concepts, the architecture and everything else stay the same, so it is just as useful for learning.

On the other hand, I’m not going to sell you Eclipse so you’ll download the book (a book I don’t make any money from either). I’ll tell you the truth: these days it’s better to use Android Studio, since Eclipse is no longer maintained (Eclipse had its golden age when I first published the book; over time, like everything in software, it was replaced by improvements, and one of them was the switch from Eclipse to Android Studio as the IDE).

Will the book be updated to Android Studio?

Although we have made quite a lot of progress on it, right now we have little time to keep going, and the constant news in the Android world makes our work outdated before we can release the next version of the book.

That’s why we will keep publishing new articles on our website that are chapters of the book itself. You can see all the Android articles we have by clicking here.

If in the future, hopefully soon, we manage to get it to the quality we want, we will certainly publish the next version.

Can you explain something specific in the book?

Suggest in the forum or in the comments of this page what you would like us to explain.

If any section isn’t clear, or you find typos or other improvements, let us know and we’ll fix it.

Can I share the book? If I’m a teacher, can I give it to my students as class material?

Without a doubt. You can do it as long as you comply with the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license.

Remember that the original will always be available from the www.Jarroba.com website, up to date and with lots of new features from day one.

We recommend sharing a link to this page so your users always have the best of the best.

How should I use the book?

Start from the beginning.

Just read what you already know (don’t skip anything, since there is a lot of information you won’t find elsewhere and it will fill many knowledge gaps).

Practice with the examples (remember you have solutions for all of them) for anything that is new to you or that you haven’t fully mastered yet.

Did I download it, or was it given to me, from somewhere other than www.Jarroba.com?

You can download it from another site, since it has a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license.

Only on this website do we guarantee 100% quality, always up to date and free of any modifications that could degrade your experience or slow down your learning.
